David Beckham Allowed to Move to AC MilanLA Galaxy Have Given Beckham Permission to Leave on Loan
Adriano Galliani, AC Milan's vice president has confirmed that David Beckham will be arriving on loan in January.
Following England’s victory over Belarus, David Beckham confirmed that his move to Milan was “95% complete”. A day later, Galliani announced that Beckham’s move was a “done deal” and that he would be arriving in time for Milan’s game against Juventus on the 10th of January. Beckham will complete the second half of the Serie A season with AC Milan in a bid to gain his place in England’s squad for the 2010 World Cup. Beckham and AC MilanThe planned move in January will be Beckham’s second spell at AC Milan. Earlier this year the former Manchester United and Real Madrid player spent six months with the Rossoneri in order to maintain his match fitness and stay in consideration for the England international team. Although some LA Galaxy fans were critical of his move, Beckham enjoyed much success, scoring twice in his 18 appearances to help AC Milan finish third in the table. Since Beckham returned to the LA Galaxy Milan have experienced some difficult times. After losing one of the worlds best players, Kaka, to Real Madrid in the summer they have experienced an uncertain start to the season. After seven games in Serie A Milan are sitting in an unacceptably low 12th position. The team has also suffered an embarrassing Champions League defeat to FC Zurich in the San Siro. Although it is only early in the season, Milan's current run of form is totally unacceptable for the demanding fans of such a large club. Beckham’s return should provide some much needed good news for the Rossoneri who are expecting more big name arrivals in the January transfer window, to help turn the club's fortunes around. Why Does Beckham Want To Play For AC Milan?A move to AC Milan in January will greatly bolster Beckham’s chances of being included in the England squad for the World Cup in South Africa in a year’s time. To remain in contention for a place in the England squad Beckham will have to be playing top-flight football right up until the World Cup. Unfortunately the MLS season is considerably shorter than the European season, ending in January, so Beckham has to look elsewhere for competitive matches. Beckham will hope that he can repeat the success of his first loan spell at Milan, and demonstrate to Fabio Capello, the England manager, that he still has the quality to merit his place in the squad for the World Cup.
