The question how did England qualify for the FIFA Football World Cup in South Africa 2010, is not hard to answer, their superb play in Group 6 Qualifiers said it all.

The English national football squad have been celebrating as they qualified with style for the Football World Cup in South Africa 2010. After years of watching the national team scrape into major football tournaments, often at the last minute via the play off route, England football supporters have every reason to cheer on their national soccer team in the World Cup next year and hope for the glories of the 1966 English World Cup winning squad.

The current England squad, together with their new Manager, have at last restored English pride in the national sport and certainly the team's goal scoring ability cannot now be questioned.

Of the six national soccer teams battling it out in the European Group 6 Qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup, England have already come out on top of Group 6, with an unbeaten run and maximum goal score of any team so far in the European qualifiers.

  • Ukraine
  • Belarus
  • Kazakhstan
  • Andorra

As at 30 September 2009 England qualified with a maximum of 24 points gained from an unbeaten run of eight games. Top scorer Wayne Rooney has already achieved nine goals and looks set to enter the record books for his performance.

  • As at 30 September 2010, England have scored 31 goals and only let in five
  • Seven yellow cards have been issued in total to the England football players
  • Gareth Barry has received two yellow cards so far

  • Frank Lampard has played the most minutes in the tournament so far with 710 minutes for the England team, Wayne Rooney has appeared for 670 minutes and David Beckham for 175 minutes
